AlabamaAmendment 2

Amendment 2

Alabama · November 3, 2026

Prohibit any reduction in a district attorney's compensation during their term in office

A yes vote means District attorneys cannot have their salary reduced while they are serving in office.
A no vote means District attorneys can continue to have their salary reduced during their term if the government decides to do so.
Simple explanation
Right now, if a district attorney (the person who prosecutes crimes) is doing a bad job, the government can cut their pay as a punishment. This amendment would ban that — it says once a DA is hired, their paycheck can't be reduced while they're in office, even if their performance drops.
