Citizenship Voting Requirement Amendment

Kansas · November 3, 2026

Amend the state constitution to state that only a citizen of the United States is eligible to vote

A yes vote means If it passes, only U.S. citizens will be allowed to vote in our state, and that becomes part of our constitution.
A no vote means If it fails, the rule stays the way it is now, which means the state legislature could still allow non-citizens to vote in certain elections if they wanted to.
Simple explanation
Right now, some states let non-citizens vote in local elections. This measure would change our state constitution to say nope, only U.S. citizens can vote. It's basically locking that rule into our founding document so it's harder to change later.
