State Question 844
State Question 844
Oklahoma · November 3, 2026
What this measure does
Require the state legislature to establish a methodology for reimbursing schools, local governments, service districts, and other local organizations for revenues lost due to a manufacturing tax exemption
A yes vote means
The state legislature must create a system to reimburse schools and local organizations for revenue they lose because of manufacturer tax exemptions.
A no vote means
There's no requirement for the state to compensate schools and local organizations for lost revenue from manufacturer tax exemptions.
Simple explanation
Some manufacturers get tax breaks from the state, which means they pay less in taxes. When they pay less, schools and local services lose money they were counting on. This measure would require the state to figure out a fair way to pay back schools and local groups for that lost money.
